Lindley Junior School Choir
They love to sing … and now their sounds have been captured on CD.
For five musical groups in Lindley have joined forces to produce a special compact disc called Lindley Sings.
It features the award-winning Lindley Junior School Choir, Lindley Junior School Training Choir, Lindley Junior School Boys Choir, Lindley Musicals Group – a choir at the school that loves to sing favourites from the musicals – and Lindley Community Choir.
The community choir includes anyone who just loves to sing and includes parents and grandparents of pupils at the Lindley schools along with other people from the Lindley community and beyond.
The choir will be up and running again in January and is based at the school.
Lindley Junior School teacher Alison North runs all the groups except for the Lindley Musicals Group, which is organised by teaching colleagues Mark Breen and Zoe Clarkson.
Alison said: “The idea of the compact disc is to celebrate all the singing that is going on in Lindley.”
The 23 tracks range from hymns through to the community choir singing It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing and the musicals group performing Maybe from the musical Annie.
It also has five Christmas songs on it.
The CDs cost £10 and are available from Lindley Junior School reception or through the school office by phoning 16.
