Tideswell Male Voice Choir
Established in October 2001, Helen’s Trust is a small local charity based in Bakewell. We provide support to anyone with terminal illness, who has a prognosis of 6 months or less, and who wishes to be cared for and to die at home.
We help anyone, anywhere in North Derbyshire and the High Peak, with any terminal illness. Our support is free to our beneficiaries, and we don’t means test as we believe this can cause unnecessary delays in providing the help people need. We never replace or replicate statutory services, but we do work with them, as well as other agencies and voluntary organisations, to ensure our beneficiaries receive the most comprehensive package of care for their individual needs and situation.
Anyone can make a referral to Helen’s Trust. We can fund and coordinate equipment such as stair lifts and recliner chairs, and non qualified nursing care to provide night sitting services and carer respite. In fact we will consider requests for anything that will enable our beneficiaries to achieve their wish of remaining at home, in familiar surroundings with their belongings and with friends, family and pets.
We rely almost entirely on our own fundraising and voluntary donations to raise the £220, 000 we need each year to provide our services. We are incredibly grateful for all the donations and support we receive.
